Bill S-223

This is how senile this retard is.
Quote from Wiki:
On Friday 28 May 2015, Hervieux-Payette sent an email to the Speaker of the Senate, the Speaker of the House of Commons, all Senators and all Members of Parliament complaining about the presence of armed police officers at the doors into the Senate.[6] She stated, "In my opinion, it is a serious mistake to arm police officers with these weapons. No matter what, the first victims of an attack will probably be police officers, because people who wish to do harm do not give advance notice. Security that relies on firepower has proven to be ineffective, and millions of Americans have paid the price for this false assumption with their lives." The letter went on to conclude that because the attacker on 22 October was killed by the Sergeant at Arms and not police, the presence of armed police was therefore unnecessary.

Yes that really took me by surprise. He didn't have my vote, that's for damn sure!

But do private member senate bills normally pass into law? This is just so weird and came out of nowhere.

I don't know, but any amount of retardation should be taken seriously that's what I learned from the election. FYI when he won the election I had to make sure it wasn't April 1st:kickInTheNuts:

Slim to less than zero. The Senate is a conservative majority and the liberal senators there aren't on good terms with the house liberals. This is a senators last feel good attempt to pass her gun control bill before she retires in like 4 days from now. Don't believe the hype. Most people on this forum don't know anything about politics or how our government even works. Hell most of them blame the Liberals for the gun laws we have when they were written by the ####in conservatives. If you've ever been pissed that your VZ is pinned to 5 remember it was the party in blue that did it.

Who started long gun registry? Liberals
Who scrapped it? Conservatives
Who did the banning back in the day , prohibit class etc Liberals
Who got common sense firearm act on the go? (Yes it has its flaws but gave us a little) Conservatives
Who started/signed on for the UN import marking scheme? Liberals
Who constantly deferred it and stopped it from coming into play? Conservatives

I think that's plenty for now.

Lets not turn this into a Liberals vs Conservatives thing, lets show that no matter who we voted for or support that we dont need Bill s - 223 (or 556, whatever rifle you may have ;) )

I have created a MS Word mail merge envelope template with all the Senators names and Ottawa postal addresses.

If anyone wants it PM me.

You can quite easily print out all the envelopes addressed to the Senate (no cost postage for MPs or Senators BTW).

Write a letter to each Senator, drop it in the mail and be done in under an hour.....

This trial ballon needs to meet serious resistance.

Who banned by name? Conservatives. Who created storage/transport laws? Conservatives. Who created mag caps? Conservatives. Look at what your list did and my list. Who had the worse effect on our rights and our hobby? The only reason conservatives even give us a second thought is because they know they can pick up a few rural votes from under educated hillbillies who will go against their own best financial interest because mah gunzz. I'm all for political action to defend our hobby but don't pretend the conservatives lost because of legal weed or "dumb ass libtards". They lost because the French turned on the NDP towards the Liberals and Harper was unpopular. I could ramble more about how ####ing terrible the CPC was at managing our economy but I'm sure you can tell by how much the price of that new AR is this year over two years ago.

From what I see, C-223 is a bill intended to cause a last bit of sh!t disturbing before she rides off in the sunset. Best to just ignore it because it won't get past second reading. Sending letters to every politician you know of only puts bad ideas into their minds, whereas not saying anything leaves everything off the radar and lets them focus on the more important things in parliamentary life.

When you send a letter that says that you want keep your semi-automatic gun at home and not in a centrally 'secure' location, you're causing uninformed people to start having doubts in their minds, and the questions start about why you 'need' machine guns in the first place. Visions of Rambo and other films with gun violence come to mind.

It's the lay people who make the laws. Just because you think that you're right doesn't mean that you'll get your way.

I agree with this however if it moves past the next stage (extremely unlikely) It would be nice if we could get a letter drafted with some sensible statistics (read: not bull#### american NRA twist it to our will stats) and a reasoning behind our position. Aside from the "I like guns" argument, which is a fair one but not very convincing. We need a stance that comes off sensible and understanding as opposed to the "cold dead hands" approach that some people on here feel will help some how. We are all law abiding gun owners who dont condone the actions of criminals misusing firearms and we need to make others understand that.

Pound for pound the Liberals have done more damage to answer your question. As far as bill c-17 back in 91, Kim Campbell was a terrible Conservative, lol. I'm not going to turn this thread into a political party argument for everyones sake , its about this bill but I have to say that I thought we were lead through the economic downturn in 08-09 pretty well by the Conservatives and I believe they protected our financial interests fairly well overall. Trudeau is hemoraging money so far but we'll see if it works/pans out , I'm willing to see with an open mind. I still think the Conservatives were better fiscally personally but that of course is debateable I see that.
As far as the "under educated hillbillies" comment , I've met plenty of educated "hillbillies" and smart rural folk. People who have degrees and people that don't that are good in tough situations. I've also met highly educated book smart people who can't change a tire, use tools or run their own life in general. You notice I won't resort to name calling.
We should stick together on the common ground of being responsible firearm owners and fight against these bills and things like it , despite our political affiliations , how's that sound.

What amazes me is that this backward little piggy is a senator...we actually pay her $135K a year to come up with bright ideas like this one. Now that she is retiring, she will continue to stuff her snout with a $65K a year pension, all at our expense. Unreal.

Very insulting comment against our rural buddies here! :feedTroll:

Let's be clear on one point:

The UN import marking is LAW this comes into effect 17th June 2017. Sadly the CPC did not "kill" this when they had the chance.

Just sent an email to my Liberal MP. I used to always get responses to my emails from the CPC but never from the Libs or NDP. If she replies I'll post it.
