So what will happen when it be effected? Only new import firearms have to be marked CA with # on the body? or all of firearms need to be done like that?
 
Bill S-223 and Support for current Gun laws

I sent an email to all Senators.

There is an online petition regarding the Liberal platform on gun laws. It only has 30,000 signatures, it should have over 2,000,000. Every firearms owner plus those they know and can persuade to should sign it.

Let's pretend that the government of the United States entered a bill like 223. What would happen?

This is what would happen. A great many armed men would march up to the top of a hill and say "F&*K YOU!!" to the government.

IF the government proceeded, there would be blood shed. I guarantee it. This is not all because of the 2nd amendment, but also because Americans still have their TESTICLES!!!

Unlike Canadians who seem to have forfeited them somewhere along the way...
 
Justin would have to be very stupid to go down that path, he needs to let it die on the order paper, Payettes is leaving as she turns 75 this week
 
This proposal reinforces the notion, just Don,t trust politician, remember how many times Harper lied to us about repealing C-68, so who can we trust, I,d say no one

Just received the second Senator reply, Senator Andreychuk, stated "I will certainly take your comments into account"

As ridiculous as this whole bill 223 is,calling it retardation and the senators retarded does not help us. This is not socially acceptable in todays age and a word we should remove from our dialogue. Plus it insults people with mental disabilities. As has been said many times in this thread already we have to come across as intelligent people who's opinion matters, and who's arguments are well thought out and intelligent! Sorry to rant people, but its the truth.

It would be nice to see sporting good stores and firearms manufacturers to get in on this also. If there are no firearms there are no firearms customers and no firearms businesses.
 
Based CSSA paper, the UN marking will be into force June 1st,2017 not 17th? I don't understand why UN want this mark since all firearms have already had SN# and if we do that it will make guns look super ugly~~~

4. (1) The firearm shall be marked by permanently stamping or engraving on the firearm’s frame or receiver
the word “Canada” or the letters “CA” and
(a) in the case of a manufactured firearm, the name of the manufacturer and the firearm’s serial number; and
(b) in the case of an imported firearm, the last two digits of the year of the importation.
(2) The markings shall
(a) be legible;
(b) have a depth of at least 0.076 mm and a height of at least 1.58 mm; and
(c) subject to subsection (3), be visible without the need to disassemble the firearm.

Erin O'Tool, Public Safety Critic for the Conservative
Claude Cardigan, Opposition Leader in the Senate
Peter Harder, Leader of the Government in the Senate

Now we should send a copy of the CILA press release to our local News Talk Radio Stations. We need to get the media on this.

When you get to the letter page you'll be able to have the letter addressed to the Prime Minister or Public Safety Minister too. Once you've filled in your address (NOT saved in any way on my site) and selected a recipient you can then get a PDF or text file to print.
