After some meetings and consultations with an interested firearms manufacturer in Canada, it looks like the billet aluminum lowers for the AR180B upper will be made available to Canadian firearms owners. Depending on the other product line priorities we are looking at the first quarter of 2008.

This is the early stages of the process so no pictures of what the final product will be but my vision is a lower that looks very much like an AR15. So all you guys wanting a non-restricted AR type rifle should be happy. Capture pins, AR15 grips, CAR type stocks, etc. I'd hope to keep the price on par with an assembled AR15 lower, but most likely a bit more due to the custom nature of the product.

The final production versions will only be made available after extensive testing and evaluation. The company I'm working with on this will not sell an inferior product and strives for precision in their product and quality assurance. The company will be revealed at a later date when we have more specific plans.

As we still need to see if the market interest even warrants going ahead with this I have a job for you guys. Any one that is seriously interested in a billet lower that fits the AR180B upper, needs to send me an e-mail to brycevolk@sasktel.net and let me know your name. Please DO NOT send PM's to the Armedsask username. There is no obligation in this e-mail, it is just to gauge market interest.

If I have my way this will lead to a complete Canadian made non-restricted black rifle. ;)

Nice work! Gives me hope for Canada to see a young guy have this sort of sort of ambition.

Well it would be nice to compete with AR 15 lowers in price don't kill the project to do so. These should have to cost more then an AR lower and we the appreciative market should be some happy to pay it!

If someone was smart they would watch ARMED's progess on this and import uppers/barrels when these lowers hit the market $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Even though there's not much of a price difference as you mentioned a while ago would wolverine or someone else be willing to bring in the uppers only? I personally wouldn't want a spare registered lower sitting idle.

Well done Bryce.
I have felt for some time that Canada should have its own fireams industry. We just need a few more people and businesses to take the lead.

(BTW, dont forget to become a dealer as soon as you start to sell stuff)

What materials, anodizing, warranty etc are we looking at here?
All in due time. We are in the very early stages.

This will not be some cheap ass fly by night product. I take pride in my workmanship and anything that is even remotely related to my name will be the same. The guys I'm working with have the same mentality. All lowers will be tested and quality assured. They will be guaranteed and all that fun stuff.

More details to follow.

Also, thanks to all who have e-mailed me. For some reason this useless Alberta Internet will let me receive e-mails but not send any out. Replies tomorrow.
