I'm guessing the next step is to machine another lower with a relocated pivot pin hole?

I'll rework the current lower to be functional. The plan was always to make more than one.

I'm stuck at school right now for another month, so nothing will happen until then. I'm going to throw the upper in the mill and probe it to get the exact dimensions. I should have done that in the first place. I'm also going to make some proper fixtures so I can easily make some more.

I'm also considering making my own broach for doing the mag wells. I'm hoping because it's just aluminum, I can make a simple one out of 4140 and not have to harden and grind it.

I've made some broaches before out of 4140 to broach some odd shape holes in aluminum, work just fine, should work for you.

Alternately, you could btch process otherwise complete lowers at any machine shop with an EDM.

I'm not paying for EDM for one or two lowers.
