I just got my Wilson Combat billet upper/lower set, and it came with a little rubber plug or cap inside the box. I am not familiar with this part can anyone tell me what it is for? Its hollowed out on both ends but not all the way through

I think I figured it out, there is a hole in the lower under the rear takedown pin. I think it goes in there to put pressure on the pin for a tighter lockup? Anyone else have something similar?

Tonight should be fun!

Helps OCD shooters get more sleep at night, not sure if serves any other purpose though.
I use one and it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Removes the 'slop' between AR uppers & lowers that aren't too well mated. Makes the gun feel more solid but really does very little if anything to improve accuracy, however.

Looking foward to the build & range report on the WC combo

I'll have to get back to you on a range report but so far so good, the upper/lower have a really tight fit even without the rubber plug. I dont have much experience as this is my first build, but I have a DD MK18 and there is alot of play between the upper/lower on that. This upper/lower set literally has no movement in comparison.

I got it all together and Im really happy with how it turned out, only a few things I need to finish up like the Troy stock mount locating post did not fit in the hole in the back of the lower. Its a hair off, so tomorrow I'll borrow a reamer from my friends machine shop and make it fit. You can see the gap between the lower and stock in the picture. And like a newb I totally forgot to order a spring for the bolt catch.
