Billy Bishop's 1911 for sale

A little off topic for this forum but Barker's matched pair of BSA 12 ga.doubles are in the Fort Dauphin Museum thanks to Orville Barker. They spent a couple of weeks in my lockup last summer during display renovations. The temptation was almost too much!

So if they are in the US then an importers mark mast be engraved somewhere on each pistol ... as per US laws.

does it matter that they were made in the States? i've seen import markings on Walthers/HKs, but have never seen them on usa made 1911s (kimbers, nighthawks,etc...)

i sent him an email asking about them, and was given a number to call, as "joe doesnt use computers". Think I'll give him a call tomorrow to find out, I would certainly be willing to lay a large chunk o cash on the line for Barker's gun. Maybe we could all scrounge together, then sell it to the govt for a 200% markup. I hear they're into stuff like that:D.
