I went to the Czech Republic for the first time this summer. I spent 4 days in Prague and loved the food and culture though the tourist presence (including myself) was very heavy.
My buddy and I went on the Communism and Nuclear Bunker tour. 3 hour tour and 2.25 hours into it we had made it to the bunker. I wanted to see how it was supposed to work but our tour guide Tomas aka Domass was more interested in flipping his hair and attempting to chat up the incomprehensible oriental ladies that had also sadly donated money to this outfit.
At the bunker, Dumass says, "Ok guys, when we get deeper you can have your picture taken with a real AK 47!". So we get deeper into the place and Dumass leads us through a room of plexibad museum rooms of cold war vintage gas masks, baby masks (no chit), scrub down chambers and badges.
"Now here" Dumass announces, "is an AK 47". It's obviously not. And as my buddy and I had had enough of Dumass, I exclaim from the back, 'That's not an AK, its a VZ 58". Dead silence as the orientals start milling around and taking pictures in my direction. Dumass brings over the deactivated vz and says "This is an AK 47!". I respond...
"No the charging handle is different and the gas block assembly, dust cover and sights are not correct. This rifle was made in Czech republic as it is stamped here..." I show him the Czech proof marks and he turns and walks back with his AK to the front. A bunch of tourists that day got there pictures taken with a "real AK".
Fast forward 5 months and the itch to try another Cold War rifle from Europe has got the best of me. I recently made one offer on EE but it wasn't accepted. My son and I went for hair cuts and went to the last chance saloon on the island to get one. The one on display was in 223 and as my face screwed up the guy said, "we have one is 7.62 on consignment...."
Checked it out and viola....

Great deal with 60 rounds on strippers and 60 rounds loose. The day I bought my sks I also hefted a cz but couldn't justify the price difference. Now I have a bit more coin and I went for it. And tomorrow, the range.
