I use just a strap but have thought about the buddies because I hate them swinging around on me.

So do you wear them inside or outside your cold weather jacket?

That one looks like it would be comfortable to use.

I use mine all the time, I love them. I started using them for shooting 3D archery but now I wouldn't hunt without them. I wear them over my outermost layer. Bino's are always handy and I know right where they are. I carry fairly large heavy bino's when I hunt and they distribute the weight nicely. I never feel them like I did when I just used a strap. Even in the truck they are great, no looking on the dash and seat for where the bino's went to and they have never interfered at all with my shooting.

One warning, don't jump with them on, they'll come up and whack you in the nose, besides that I wouldn't be without them.

One thing I did was put split rings (key chain rings) on each pair of my bino's, so with a couple quick snaps I can change which pair is on the bino buddies, or remove them if I don't want the bino buddies that day.

I've used them for about 18 months. I love them. Takes the weight of your neck, and keeps the binos from swinging. I wish I would have had them for the last 30 years. I guide, so my binos are used all day every day. what a difference with the harness.

How did you make your's?

I bought a pair a long time ago. SO for my family and friends I just bought a bunch of the stretchy strap, and used a piece of leather for the back piece. I then just followed the pattern from the ones I have and had my wife working the sewing machine. I used parts from old packsacks for the plastic bits.

I don't have, but after running around in the bush with a pair, they NEED to be restrained or put away when on the move. These would be the cat's ass. Held tight to the body, quick access AND protect... they would pay for themselves in one season.

I've got a set but don't really use them as designed. I didn't like the rubber strap so that went fast. The ridiculous hard rubber occular cover is only useful for banging into your face. That leaves a decent neoprene strap. I usually just stuff my binos into my jacket to stop them from swinging.
I've seen plenty of harnesses that are actually good for something, but a "Bino-buddy" isn't a harness. It's a strap with a chunk of rubber tied to it. You can do better.
