How do you guys carry your binos? Right now, mine just hang from a neck strap. It bugs my neck after a while, and they swing all over the place when Im climbing over downed logs and stuff. I'm looking for options that keep them close to my chest at all times, preferably with some sort of protective covering to keep them cleaner/dryer too. The combo of binos hanging from my neck and slung rifle hanging from my shoulder is nothing short of frustrating when you're trying to go over a cut like this:

I use Alaskan Guide Creations Classic to hold my 10x42 Swarovski EL. Best thing I ever bought. I will never hang binos around my neck again

That is the sort of thing I'm after. Price is a bit steep... But i guess you get what you pay for.

Im going to look into some of the options on Amazon and see if anything tickles my fancy...

I loop the bino strap through the d ring on my packs right shoulder strap and it hangs from the ring, I then clip the chest strap together and tuck the binos under the shoulder strap just above the chest strap. Keeps it comfortably in place and within easy reach. It un loops easily from the d ring if I'm going to sit and wait and need the binos to glass.

Got the Sitka bino harness this year. A bit larger than I anticipated but I love it! A set of 7X42 mid size bingo's in the main pouch and a GPS on one side in a small compartment and a range finder in the other side. Wore it sheep hunting, even with a full pack, and never even noticed it.

You bet definitely not the cheapest product of its kind but well worth it in particular if you are carrying around high end binos.
You may want to check for a used case on here http://www.rokslide.com/forums/
The come up from time to time

My binos came with a neoprene pouch with a belt loop on the back. Tried to use that, by running my chest strap through the belt loop... Sadly it sits too high, really obscures my vision around my feet and if I look down I get a chin full of bino case...

Oh well. It was worth a try. Maybe I can get some webbing and make my own harness out of it. Might just buy one, there is a decent looking one on Amazon for $50.

I don't hang binos around my neck anymore.
The one time I have had to damn near call in an emergency evac for a fellow hunter......
Climbing up a stepped rock face up to a bowl in the alpine , buddy gets to the last ledge that was about chest high. As he oomphs himself up he slips and back down he goes. I see him crumple and is just laying there like he's dead. Then I see the blood..... lots and lots of blood.

So I scramble back down and try to figure out why buddy's face is bleeding and where from. He damn near knocked his top front teeth out and cut his tip lip right thru. It was a nasty fuggen sight let me tell ya. So I get in on first aid and buddy is totally unconscious for a good 20 minutes while I'm frantically doing what i can and trying to get the sat phone up.
Buddy comes too as if he is in a fight..... crazy how some people come too after taking a hard hit.

so long story short, as he slipped back down, the binos , under his jacket but attached to some chest rig he bought (bino buddy? I honestly don't know) , got caught on the rock edge and shove straight into his face. he was in pain for the next 10 days and really should have gone to a hospital on the spot but decided to press on.

I learned to not carry my binos on my chest after that and have them in a hip pouch with a quick release.
