Bino carrying options

Anyone use the ALPS outdoorZ extreme bino harness? It's $50 on Amazon, looks to be decent?

Also, do any sponsors sell bino harnesses for under $100? I would love to support them if possible...

I've tried several of the numerous harnesses on the market; can't stand any of 'em. They are slow to get into or out of, they plaster your clothes down against your body and are generally uncomfortable. Frankly, they're a PITA; a marketing solution to a non-existent problem.

Yes, a binoc hung on a strap around your neck doesn't work too well. Bounces around, swings and sways, and is generally unsuitable for almost any level of physical activity. But adjust the strap long enough so that you can place it over one shoulder, with the binoc hanging on the opposite side against your ribs just above your belt, and you are set. For walking, the binocular hangs there on your side, protected by your arm and completely out of the way. To use it, just grab it and slide it forward and up to your eye. You can let it hang there in front of your chest if you like, making it even more instantly available for use. If you're climbing or crawling, you can slide it around behind your hip, which affords it even more protection. Getting into or out of this rig is lightning fast so it's easy to quickly add, subtract or adjust clothing layers throughout the day as required.

I like this system best when it's used with a very narrow leather strap; no buckles or other gadgets to complicate things.

I have tried just about all the chest rigs. Was an early adopter when they first started showing up. Have had bushnell vortex leupold and Sitka and there was always one thing or another that just wasn’t what I wanted. Someone on here recommended the Rick Young Outdoors harness and I think it’s the cats a**. It’s light, simple, easy to adjust, easy to get on and off, holds bino loose or close to the chest and a number of different carry options. It can be had online at the Rick Young website for about $50. Some people criticize it because it’s a really simple design and short on looks but man I love it

Id rather one that is a pouch to hold the binos.

Checked out badlands. They look nice, and start at only $65usd which is pretty decent - until you see the $60 shipping! Free ground shipping to the US, which could be an option but for $50 shipped to my door I'm liking the one on Amazon...

10x42s in a large kuiu bino harness, bottle of windchecking powder in one of the side pouches and my rangefinder pouch on the other side.....works really well and very comfortable.

Long strap slung over one shoulder across body. Securely out of the way and strap is long enough I can just pull them up to my eyes.

I have a 511 mag vest I wear when I’m hunting. It has a pocket on the inside that’s just wide enough for my binos. Best way I have found yet. In the winter I wear it on the inside of my coat to keep the snow out of it.

Pretty close to what I do, I think.

Long strap, over one shoulder, so the binos hang naturally on the side opposite my rifle.

Can lift them up with one hand, and drop them without a thought, and they swing out of the way.

Strap hangs nicely under the collar on my jacket. No worries about it digging in, or I would use a wider strap.

Cheers

How do you guys carry your binos? Right now, mine just hang from a neck strap. It bugs my neck after a while, and they swing all over the place when Im climbing over downed logs and stuff. I'm looking for options that keep them close to my chest at all times, preferably with some sort of protective covering to keep them cleaner/dryer too. The combo of binos hanging from my neck and slung rifle hanging from my shoulder is nothing short of frustrating when you're trying to go over a cut like this:

Inside my coat, no problem. :) Nice and cozy.
