Binocular Thoughts

Just for clarification for everyone, I was not eliminating any other Manufacturers for consideration.
As well buying used could be an amazing experience and a very frugal way of buying a good set of glass.
As a Moose & Deer Hunter, I was simply relating my personal experience, and pure joy with my set of Leica binoculars.
Thanks.

I got Celestron Nature DX 10x42. That was after I sold my Leupold Tactical. I was never able to focus the Leupold properly. I did not know why, it almost looked like they were crooked or misaligned somehow. The Celestron are perfect for me, I am happy with my purchase. I use them for hunting, no hard chocks or dragging in mud.

my old man has had Tasco for 25 yrs and they have been through hell and work perfect. I find many binoculars don't even magnify that much.

?????
10 power binoculars magnify 10 times
8 power magnify 8 times

Maybe you old mans 25 year old tasco's need replacing if they don't magnify that much

People called me crazy for spending $1850.00 on binos. Swarovski 8.5x42 others ended up spending more over the years and still don’t have what I do. 17 years later there still awesome.

That's the way to do it, if you can. Actually it's the way to do it even if you can't. It seems there's never enough money to do it right, but always enough to do it over.

I have the vortex talon hd's 10x42 and find them great which are also in your price range. I bought the bushnell legend elite ultra hd's(now new sires with letters in the name i think) from canadian tire for my parents a couple years ago and they are also equally as clear for about half the price of the vortex talon. Both have lifetime warranties. If your lucky enough your local Canadian tire may have some of those bushnells leftover, have a look through them and i think you just might be surprised.

It takes a while to realize that buying 5 pairs of entry level binoculars equals one premium set that never needs upgrading.

The odd guy might realize that after he as good as paid for the good set that he still doesn't have them, where he could have been using them for the last 20 years or so. :( Hindsight is 20-20, but has an uncomfortable glare.

There's only 3 things you need to know about binoculars:

Zeiss
Leica
Swarovski

Heck, you only need to get one out of three right to pass the test.

well that is true - as far as it goes...
look also at:

Kowa Genesis
Fujinon fmtr-sx
Nikon edg2 and the older ‘Superior E’ porroprism

there’s probably others as well . but the point is lots of firms know how to (and do) make superior optics worth owning for a lifetime ... and have been for quite a while

I may be looking to upgrade. I have the older green ring 10 x42 Leupold Cascades. They have been Great, but as I every year I seem to notice I have a harder time picking out little things. It's probably more my eyes than anything.

Anyway, I'm looking at possibly upgrading to a mid range pair. I would guess near the $600 range +/-... I am not a fan of vortex at all. Most reviews I have read show the vortex as a top contender.

My other option would be to sell my Swaro Spotter and buy a set of Swaro bino's, but I feel that bino's get beat around a lot more than a spotting scope and I'm pretty sure I would shed some man tears if I broke a set of $3000 bino's.

Obviously the big three are at the top for a reason, but I would also check out meopta if you don't want to spend the big dollars.
