I'm looking to get some bino's for the hubby that won't break the bank. I was thinking rangefinding binoculars but wow. Any suggestions.

Look into Swift
I bought a bunch of ex US Border Patrol Skipper Mark 1 7x50's binoculars many years ago
I still have a set because they turned out to be very good

Peek at his collection and see if he has a brand preference for optics on his rifles. It will be obvious if has. A favorite. I personally wouldn’t want any magnification over 7x but if he uses a tripod for spotting he may want more magnification. Great value in vortex, bushnell, Nikon etc.

What a great gift.

His preferences are pricey haha. Mostly Nightforce and Leupold. Urg he's getting hard to shop for. I will check out the Swifts

Perhaps you want to find a nice chest rig for carrying binoculars and let him treat himself to exactly what he wants. This puts you at 1-200 vs upwards of $1000 depending on his tastes.

Range finding binoculars are bloody expensive. Vortex Fury 10x42 would be as cheap as I would go and they have pretty good glass. The price will be around $1500. The other option is to buy just a binocular like vortex vipers then get a seperate range finder later.

Can't go wrong with nikon, have a pair of s3 10x42 for $200.00,ive had them for 8 years and they are outstanding, thought I got grit inside the focus knob but it just needed cleaning.they bounced around on a quad a boat and Snomachine and they still held up.i saw them on sale for $140.00 or something like that.

Delta cannot be beat for price in our opinion. We recently had the president of an optical manufacturer ask to look at our binos, mentioning Swarovski. He evaluated all and bought Delta, who has an extensive range of models. We are not saying hey are equal to Swaros, but they are exceptionally fine.

You have a few nice used delta stryker scopes.and delta is the next I try.

there have been some really good deals on Steiner optics in the last couple weeks.
I want to say at cabelas but I'm kinda thinkin it was canadian tire.....
I found a fantastic deal on Leupold range finder at a canadian tire in northern bc last month...... last one , 1/2 price. Didn't know they even carried leupold as the brand doesn't show up in online searches of their site. Almost bought a bushnell when i spotted that RX-1400i-TBR/W for 1/2 price .... score!

Also look at Minox. Great optics for the price.
Have bought them for my daughter and wife.

Agreed. There's a Canadian seller on eBay that has NOS made in Germany sets on which you can make an offer. 8x42 or 10x42 are good, and you can get them for 300$ shipped. The descriptions are quite accurate, so make sure you check the country of manufacture.

Have a serious look at the Leica Trinovid HD 8x42's. They can be found in Canada for a little over one thousand dollars.
You won't find better glass in their price range.

As a fellow "hard to shop for" person, I recommend you ask him what he wants and then just go buy them. He probably knows what he wants. He probably won't be happy with anything else. He probably thinks they are expensive, because they are, and is worried about spending that much.

Think about it this way. Maybe he would buy himself the cheaper vortex binoculars, your gift is the difference between those and a good pair of binoculars.
