Biodegradable clay pigeons in Canada

So where do you think the lead went ?
It didn't just evaporate .
Lots of dead lead poisoned birds in your area ?

The soil tests coming up negative might not be all that surprising. I am not familiar with exactly what method is use to test soil but have a rough idea. The samples would have an extraction performed on them before running them. Depending on how the extraction is done there may not be any lead detected. Lead doesn't dissolve in water. There could have literally been birdshot in the samples and the tests wouldn't show any lead.

Now is the extraction was done using an acid that would be a different story.

Would have to be a pretty dumb bird to pick lead shot up off of a field. Even the lead shot in ponds picked up by birds is incidental to them eating off the bottom.

Yep. We are good as long as we don't get acid rain like California.Seriously I think acid rain would be the death of using lead.

yes if your soil type is acidic and you have high water tables and lots of rain (most of BC) you going to have issues with lead leaching, other then that lead is very stable and not that hard to clean up.

The OP actually started the thread about bio-degradable targets and I responded how after a quarter century of a shooting club's operations a soil testing came up showing no traces of toxicity including lead from the shot fallout and suddenly the thread has become a lead shot thread. Lets keep on the main focus here and that was the OP's looking for advice on bio-degradable targets.
