Hey Guys;

From... http://w w w.mossyoak.com/shop/tradepost/cart/proddetail.asp?prod=8410

Anyone have personal experience with this liquid attractant made by Bio-logic and Mossy Oak?

I know that some guys here use their food plot seed mixes, with good results, so... I got two 1 gallon jugs of it on the weekend for $4 each... It doesn't put me out a bunch of $, but I have always been "skeptical" of these products and generally stayed away...

This year, my wife really wants to shoot a buck and I thought I'd put this stuff on the ground near her stand to see what happens... Oh ya, on the jug, it says...

"This product is extremely attractive to deer and they will quickly develop a wallow as they frequent the site seeking the minerals and nutrients that surface."

Use of this product in Alberta is illegal, so therefore my experience is nil.

Does that mean it REALLY REALLY works then??? Sort of like the spinning wing duck decoys being banned in some areas...

Jay i have used the Black Magic one like this and have had real good results, its a sweet smelling product, and although i didnt get my buck, he was there, digging at the ground making the "wallow" you were talking about, this stuff you scrape away the top layer of earth pour it on and let it soak into the ground, any rain is good for it as well, the deer dug the crap out of the spot i had it placed, hope this helps.

ps... I didnt know you brewed beer, lol, ill for sure take you up on that offer now!!lol.

For manitoba it states that "it is not recomended to feed wildlife" So by this i guess we can feed them, just not bait them. Where did you pick up those products from?

You can make a mineral lick with softener salt... a lot cheaper. Most of these so called attractants contain MSG (monosodium glutamate) the same thing they put in chinese food.
They generally all work but a good old salt lick will keep the deer coming around too.

X2

Plus throw in some of those flavoured deer licks available at TSC and some other farm supply store.

One bag of salt three of those bricks and I have a square meter hole, about six inches deep in my hunting area.

Make sure its pure salt. not those water softner pellets. Alot of them contain other chemicals

Okay... I "hit" the local wal-mart today for a cheap gardening tool, the solid metal hand-held 3 prong "rake"... I've got to remove the vegitation in a 3 foot area prior to pouring the stuff on the soil... I'm going out saturday to set the "wallow" next to my wife's stand... Gonna "re-fresh" the wallow the first day of deer season that we are out in our stands...

Oh ya, ALL of the other bottles of the WhiteTail Addiction are SOLD OUT!!! It's really really got me wondering just how good this product is... I wish others CGN had some experience with it...

Cheers
