Questions are really about an AR180, but since the gun in question would have a quad rail and an Ar stock adaptor, the same would apply to the AR15 so lots of guys should be in the know :)

1) What options are out there for product currently and readily available in Canada that would allow me to mount a decent bipod on a quad rail with QD capability. I'm not talking about a YHM stud adaptor and a Harris, I want the whole thing to detach leaving a clean rail with no residual stud mount. I know about the Larue QD mount, but I don;t think it's currently and readily available and I'm not willing to back order it an wait months on end, so what else is out there?

2) What AR stock options are out there which offer adjustable cheek weld for fast switching between optics and irons that are not co-witnessed? I know of the magpul CTR with the ability to swap cheekpieces and the magpul PRS, but what other options are out there that thread onto an AR adaptor? I don't need a functional buffer tube though, so maybe that expands my choices?

American Defense Mfg. makes one. It's fairly pricey if I recall... $90 or so.

I wouldn't call the CTR cheek piece swap 'fast'. But I do love my Magpul PRS... it's fairly weighty as well, and will help balance an AR180 for offhand shooting. Although a AR-180 will look sort of weird with a PRS on it.

A PRS would be cool, but there seems to be none about. It might not look as weird as you imagine. A PRS is polymer and club-foot in design, the original stock is also polymer clubfoot ;)

I couldn't find any ADM stuff in stock, but Wolverine had an ARMS32 in stock, so I ordered that instead. It also looks like a decent uint.

GAH! I dunno about you, but I will never buy any ARMS mounts for anything ever again. No ability to adjust tension for different rails (you can use a shim made from a pop can I guess... blah) and the levers are made of pot metal (or they seem like it).

ArmsEast has the ADM bipod mount in stock from what I just checked... but $99 is a litttle steep. Oh well.. I have a TON of ADM mounts, and I prefer them over everything including LaRue.

It's steep to me too, but they're steep from ADM, (but they're real nice as well). Kind of a 'buy quality and you only cry once' thing IMO.

They are in stock.

Oh I know Walt - I wasn't complaining about YOUR price, just the price of that piece in general. :) But like I said, I LOVE the ADM mounts for everything else too... I can't think of why anyone would run Larue after trying this stuff! At least ADM is registered for export into Canada... Larue couldn't care LESS about this market!

Advice taken, ADM unit ordered from ARMSEAST.

If you compare anything ARMS beside anything ADM, the choice will become VERY clear. ARMS used to be the only game in town when it came to quick release levers, but I can't for the LIFE of me see how they can still sell their crap when there are faaaar superior systems out there.

That was one of the main reasons I sold my Elcan SpectreDR... it wouldn't really fit my upper, and I needed to use a spoon to pry the levers open when removing it. The little levers are so tiny, you can bend them easily, and as noted, they seem like they're made of pot metal.

You won't be sorry you went with ADM! Let us know how the adapter works for you... I'll probably get one soon too!

I have a couple ADM mounts and they are the best ones I have seen. I also have an ARMS 1913 bipod adapter...quality seems good but there is no way to adjust the tension:(
