Bipod for Savage VLP?

What is a good length for a hunting bipod ? I've seen one on tv
that guys can use when siting on the ground. Just woundering what hight they are?
I have a rock creek 6-9 inch for the range but this is way to short !
Any ideas ?

Mine is actually a Series 1A2-H that extends from 13-1/2" to 23" which I find perfect for shooting from a sitting position. It is also super light and transferable between my rifles. http://www.tri-link.biz/miva/merchant.mvc?store_code=MSP&screen=PROD&product_code=HBP-1A2-H00
