Ok . I'm at my job (no catalog here) and I need to find a place that HAS IN STOCK both of these items.

1) Harris bipod , swivel is a must , NOT notched legs, 9-13 inchs.

2) Quality base and rings the mount a scope on a Marlin 45-70 1895gs. Something like Leupold QR or QRW.

Any ideas.

The bipod is for my 300 RUM when we go to the pit for 500 and up yards.

The 1895 is for my bear defense needs... ;)

The 1895 is for my bear defense needs.

Get a williams fiber optic front sight and an XS Sight Systems ghost ring. Way faster target aquistion than a scope in my humble opinion. I have owned 4 guide guns and have tried em all as far as sight set ups go and that ghost ring with a fiber optic front sight is that cats ass for up to 100 yard shots.

Well in that case, I'm sorry.

I thought about a QR Leupold ring on my 30-30, but think about this: The base is a fairly bulky box. The factory sights are real low on the barrel and flat to the top of the reciever. You won't be able to see the sights, if that's your goal. I elected to use a one piece Weaver base on mine, as it's designed so you can see the sights through it. Just keep a screwdriver, pliers or even just use the back of your knife to remove it if needs be.

No not really for bear defense .... I can do that with my bare hands !

I need a scope on the guide gun because I have 8 pounds of two differrent powders and a bunch of bullet to develop good load for the gun. I may hunt with the scope but I really prefer to have something that I can take off if needed.

Thanks pharao22, I will make more research on that .

BTW. The bipod is already ordered from PD entreprise.

Let yourself loose on the mount and ring for the 45-70 govN'T
