I purchased a cz 858 factory bipod form a fellow CGNer.And for the life of me I could not get it to open up while on the rifle... after further investigation I realized there is no recess slot on the rifle for the pin in the bipod to expand into...(this pin expands out through the base of the bipod as you slide the bipod forward or back, until it reaches the next notch).
Im I missing something here... cause I don't see how it is possible?

Slip's on the bayonet attachment point under the front sight. 1 direction lock's it in place, the next open's up the bi-pod and the third direction allows it to slip on and off the barrel.

Yes... there is a pin with a spring in the bipod that has 3 positions, like you said... the only thing it can do is slide onto the bayonet... this is when the pin is flush with the bipod base... in all the other positions that spring/pin sticks out... thus locking it or holding it in position.... I get that.... However that pin has no place to seat itself... the pin is in the dead center of the bipod base... the notch that it needs to seat itself on the bayonet is farther forward... by 3/16 - 1/4 of an inch off.

As you can see there is no slot for this pin to seat itself, and the bipod does not slide farther forward because there are stops in front of the bayonet lug!

This picture shows the bayonet next to the bipod... and how much further forward the pin is on the bayonet... thus allowing it to seat and lock itself into place on the lug...

Ok I talked to Wolverine supplies... and they pointed out that there should be a hole in the lug to accept the bipod locking pin.( so I am not going crazy) I guess I was the only one to notice this.... The whole reason I stated this thread. but hey, it was good talking to myself too....lol:cheers:

Ya there is supposed to be 1 right were your gaint red dot is. If you want to replace the front sight post I have a spare one for ya.
;)

So wolverine sent me a new (proper front sight, with a hole in the bayonet lug):) And I wanted to know, before I change it out. Am I going to lose some paint off the rifle during this process? can it be avoided ?
