Looking to get a higher end bipod with a quick detach mount to switch between a couple rifles. I currently have a Harris that has worked well. I'm leaning towards the atlas model with the quick detach mount for picatinny. However, I'm also looking at the CKYE pod from MDT. I guess I'm curious if the atlas will be enough for a part time plinker. The CKYE pod looks pretty amazing, but its almost $200 more. Atlas the way to go? Thanks for the insight.

It depends on what you are doing, I run an MDT CKYE Pod but I mostly do field shooting/dabble in PRS and it's been amazing for that. I run ARCA on everything now I can swap easily between all my rifles.

I also have all 3 and all have their benefits.
Harris is super solid and fast to deploy, I have added the RRS Arca,Picatinny mount and it’s great
Atlas is super solid, able to Pan, Swivel, and Cant but costs more then the Harris. Also lots of accessories to add as you may need , spiked feet, leg extensions etc
The Ckryepod is the most versatile and is extremely adjustable. I love the amount of Cant it has at 170 degrees which is awesome on roof top stages also love how nice it feels loading into the bipod. Only down side is it isn’t a tight unit and rattles and shakes (for $550 I expect it to fit perfect)

For what you are doing I would say the Harris and add the RRS adapter would give you everything you want or the Atlas as an upgraded bipod

Thanks guys. I think at this point the Atlas will be a great upgrade and can easily be switched between my rifles. If I get into competitions atleast I will have some more experience with the Harris and atlas and can go from there.

The ckye pod does seem super modular but the price is a bit steep for my current needs as a casual plinker

I've got a few Harris' with podlock, the RRS adapters that let you run pic/arca, adapters to run Atlas feet and Hawkhill feet as well as a Ckyepod with the RRS adapter. I've used buddies' Atlas a bit but don't have extensive experience with them. For a casual plinker, I don't know that one is worth it over another. You could just put an adapter on your Harris so it can go on pic rails.

For my uses (shooting PRS/NRL and field matches) the Ckyepod is hands down worth the added expense. It's easily the most versatile bipod out there. For a guy just out there plinking, I don't imagine a Harris is holding you back. Try the Atlas, see if you prefer it. They all kinda have their strengths and weaknesses.

Totally agree with this. I will still run a tall harris when hunting and weight is an issue. The only downside of a harris is that by the time you get the higher end version and add the features you want (aftermarket feet, pod lock, adapters etc.) you're spitting distance from the atlas MSRP.
