Bipod selection for .338 Lapua (CADEX CDX-33) - What would you use?

The fact that the CF has multiple vaults with multiple Timberwolves, that get used and abused much worse than most guns, equipped with harris bipods. Says to me that the harris will stand up to the job just fine.
I have seen 1 of them break, but it certainly wasn't from standard range use.
Although they are not as stable as a LRA, that I agree with.
IMO the LRA is not what I would consider a field bipod, I wouldn't put one on a rifle I take hunting. If I was going to run a bipod as a range only set up I'd probably get an MPOD or something. Probably more stable than the LRA for range use, then run a harris for field work.

Well thanks for mentioning the Harris, apparently that's what I have on my .308, LOL! I was just looking at pics and that explains that. It's been quite stable, definitely much better than the Caldwell ones I've had.

My precision rifle (.308Win) has been between 16lbs to 18lbs over the years. It wore a Harris, AI, and now an Atlas bipod. ALL of them handled the weight and rigors of competition matches just fine.Never had a bipod related issue.

That being said, for anything above .308Win, I personally would go with the LRA Bipod. But the others I have mentioned will suffice.

How about one of the new Accu-shot 5-H bipods

wow those look bada$$

You betcha, I'm sure we have one to fit straight onto a pic rail but cannot remember the number. Will have to have a look in the morning. Seem even more solid than the Parker Hale, wide stance and build quality beyond question

Personally I love the Atlas bipod on anything up to a 15lb rifle.

Once you start getting past magnum 30 cal territory and into the 40 and 50 cal guns that weigh 20+lbs, the LRA has no rival on the market.

OK, so the BT35 is in stock but the BT35LW17 (has the throw lever ARMS17S attached) is sold out.
I took a BT35 and attached an ARMS17S and put it onto a Barrett MRAD 338 this morning (pictures below). This is much larger and heavier built than any Atlas before and would have complete faith in it on any 338 or 50.
