bipod suggestions needed

I am looking for a solid bipod for my savage 110. It has a basic 6-9 but I find the legs don't want to stay down when I am aiming and shooting. I don't recall thd brand at thd moment but its not high end and will work great on the hunting rifle.

I would like to have something solid with some kind of locking legs that don't fold in on their own.

Any suggestions or recomedations would be much appreciated.

Not trying to be an ass here... but do you have it mounted so the legs fold forward?

You bet. I just find the legs are too sensitive and fold with too little effort.

They call it "loading" the bi-pod, putting a little forward pressure on it as u lean into it sorta thing.Should help a bit.

I tried a few different bipods over the years and the best I've used is the Harris. I have one on my Savage 10BAT-S/K and in all different kinds of terrain ( pardon the pun) it stands up well.

Harris' are solid and they work. They are also bulky. And old.

Atlas is where it's at. That will be where my money will go in the future. It is better in everyway.

Sold my Harris's after I bought my first Versapod from ATRS. Much better setup, easier to use and more stable.

Ive tried Burris, Harris, Rocky Mountian, and Versa. Always seem to go back to harris. They are all very similar but harris seems to be the one. Dont know why? It just works.

Try Parker Hale. Heavy as hell, but they certainly work well. - dan

Thanks guys, Time to do some shopping. I am definitely looking for something heavy and tactical styled. Versapod looks good, have to have a close look at one.

another fan of the Versa pod. I have three guns with the mount and move the bipod around. I think it's the "battle pak" from ATRS and a few extra mounts.

The only thing I have noticed is that there is a fair amount of lateral movement. You have to "load" the bipod with some tension front to back. Easy to do and I think it's normal.

you should lean into all bi pods to tighten everything up to produce more consistent results and it stops the gun from jumping as much
