Hey guys I am currently running a Harris 6-9" swivel bipod and it has served me well for the most part, but I am considering moving up to try something different. I was looking at the MDT GRND-Pod, Atlas Gen 2 Cal and the Cadex Falcon. I mainly do bench and field shooting and just looking for something that has more adjustability and is more rigid. If you have any insights into any of these or have other suggestions please let me know, thanks in advanced!

I have a couple Grndpods and really like them. I don't have much experience with Atlas bipods and none with a Cadex so can't offer a direct comparison. I have directly compared the Grndpod to a Harris and a Magpul bipod, which are more in line price-wise (the Atlas Cal is $100 more and the least expensive Cadex Falcon is $200 more ) and found the Grndpod to be superior. I'll see if I can find that thread.

If you want a super stable and solid bipod, then I can offer you my MPOD. Designed for FTR at the highest levels of competition, it has proven itself where peak accuracy is desired but a bipod must be used. But still super light at 13oz.. similar to a Harris.

You can also use it in the field but the legs do not fold. On the bench, it is equal to the best pedestal front rests wrt to consistency, tracking and accuracy potential.

PM or email to discuss. If you visit my facebook page, you can see lots of pics of happy owners.

If you prefer a bipod with folding legs, I can offer you a few types. Thanks

Jerry

The nice thing about the cal is the wider foot print. I have a cal and a ckye pod. I'm adding a super cal shortly. I just sold my grnd pod and atlas V8 in favor for the wider footprint models. I find my shooting setup is more solid with the wider stance at the front of my rifles. Grnd pod is good though for the price. I wouldn't get another one though

A lot depends on what interface you have on the bottom of your rifle. If I'm shooting one that has a sling stud, then throwing on a Harris does what can be done. With a rail then the GRND is a nice light field bipod that flips up or down as needed, but the MPOD is the most solid if you need the best accuracy.

And depending on whether your rails are Arca, UIT, or Picatinny you may need adaptors or different bipod heads. If the industry could have standardized on just one that would have been wonderful!

No NO AND NO

Grnd pod , good though for the price. I wouldn't get another one though[/QUOTE] -if you would not get another. What would you get in its place? Similar price. Or spend a little more on what?

From my experience with bipods so far, I would opt for a Cal at the very least. Super cal would be even better. So yes, I would spend more. If I had to choose between the grnd pod and the atlas V8, I'd probably for the atlas

I find it crazy how much a simple ARCA adapter costs.
Make your own. Amazon parts on a harris. Works just fine.

While probably great for square range/F-class, not a great option for field shooting.

If it was me and I had a big budget, I would go with TBAC's bipod for combined general target practice and field use. Atlas if I had to shrink the budget.

Get the right tool for the job. There are specific bipods for specific uses.
