Bipods!

"I have a Steyr Scout and I use a separate bipod rather than the integrated one because it is simply better."

It is not better, but cheaper, I agree with that.

The Scout has an integral bipod, which is passable at a pinch. The rifle is @$2,000+

A Harris bipod is about $150 and is far superior in every way imaginable.

No you are wrong in this case. This is something you have no idea about. You better check this out, because you clearly have no experience with this new item on the market.

The issue of your height is an important one. I'm 6' 1" too, and find a 9-13" the best fit. I've had a few Harris, but the best of them (for shooting prone) is the 9-13", notched legs, swiveling. I should add, I use a bipod for varmint hunting only, shooting prone only. I think they kind of suck for bench use when compared with heavy bags.

Re: Caldwell~they work OK, I started with one of those and it's still in service on my newphew's groundhog gun. Personally, I think you're better off saving a little longer for a Harris...or picking one up used off the EE. Swiveling bipods are a much better choice for hunting than the non-swiveling, and if you've used both...you'll know it's true! :)

I agree with that. blklbl is swiveling integrated bipod.

I find it strange you've been on this forum for over a year and a half and just all of a sudden decided to post about this great new product

I don't care about your feelings at all . This is free country. I just like what I saw on the web site and shared my info. This product is clearly not for you, so why do you have any concerns, that someone else might find my info useful ? This is a forum, not your web site .

I think it is you who is somewhat biased on the subject matter, and also displaying a complete lack of ability to tolerate an opinion other than yours. I also really appreciate your comments on the lack of my knowledge, it goes with your other balanced comments, and all by your 5th post. Wow, unreal.

I don't have a problem to tolerate another opinion, if it's really opinion about the subject we are discussing in here - bipod, especially ,if non of you have any experience and seen this new one I posted in here, but I don't see any opinion which stays on the topic, just personal ranting.

Looks like your earlier shilling link has been zapped, so I think I shall just add your name to the 'looking for a village' list and leave it at that.

The Caldwell you listed from Amazon will be fine, unless you plan for hard use. Then go Harris. I haven't tried the Atlas bipod yet as it's too rich for my blood for what it does.

Atlas are great bipods....might be a bit overkill for a .22lr, but if you have the cake, why not?

I have 1 atlas and I use it on 90% of my guns, the others I have my Harris SBRM since they have only sling swivel studs.

Buy 1 good bipod and use it on all your guns. With that said im buying the new Cadex Bipod next year ;)

Link has been deleted, which I have no problem with, but great idea and argument stays. Feel free to do what ever you want to. It would be appreciated, if you say, why your bipod you pushing in here is better than this new idea, you didn't know about, instead of constant personal attacks.

Scout integral bipod is pretty simple compare to the integrated bipod I was talking about and is missing many things, so I agree with you, that Harris is better than Scout, but your implications for any new ideas is simply wrong and has no any base.

Just because you have a Scout with integrated bipod, it doesn't mean that better integrated solution doesn't exists.
