Bipods

Um, I had an mPod...yeah...that was the best. ...Wait....then a Harris....yeah, that was the best....um, I have an Atlas and that's the best one....yeah.....yeah....oh wait, I have an LRA......that one's the best....yeah, yeah......um, I also have an LRA F-class....I think that one is the best......

Oh crap, I'm confused.....

All I know...the ones I have are the bestd:h:

If memory serves, the MPOD is around 300$. It is also sold by Mystic Precision, a site sponsor and a Canadian retailer. Jerry from Mystic is REALLY nice to deal with.

I have a Remple, MPod, and a Harris with custom milled feet, and I rate them in that order. The MPod is great if you're hiking up somewhere and don't want to heft the weight of the Remple. The MPod is stable and super adjustable (longer legs and cant options make it even more adjustable), but the Remple is the dogs bollocks. As stable as my Cowan pedestal, and built like a tank.

Thanks,
Cal.

What style of shooting are you going to be doing with the Bipod???

Your style of bipod is dependent of your shooting discipline.F-Class, Benchrest, and Tactical/PRS style shooting all have their specific styles/needs.

What works well for F-Class may not work that well or at all for Tactical/PRS competitions.

F-Class shooters prefer Bipods/Front rests such and the Remple, Star Shooter, Dolphin, and M-Pod.These tend to be larger, bulkier, and can be heavier then your standard type bipod.

Tactical/PRS shooters prefer bipods such as the Harris, LRA, Atlas, and the new Cadex bipod just to name a few.

I currently run an Atlas BT10-LW V8 with the ADM QR Picatinney mount and have been extremely happy with it.

On a larger caliber rifle you may want to go with the LRA or new Cadex bipod for field use.

YMMV. ;)

I'll be shooting long range target from the ground mostly

Mpods for bench and flat ground, harris when on rough unforgiving terrain
On another note, has anyone used the anti-cant add on for the mpods, if so, is it good, bad or what?

Given that you can (slowly and roughly) level the MPOD just using the adjustable length legs, the cant option isn't absolutely a necessity. That being said, it was maybe the best $40 I've spent since actually buying the MPOD. Now I just deploy the legs at whatever height I need/want and then level the rifle using the handle under the rail mount. It literally takes just seconds, and you can quickly and easily re-adjust as necessary.
