Well...my quest for a skookum laminate M14 stock has finally come to a successful conclusion. Thanks to a helpful CGN'er, I found a place that would make me the stock I was lusting after.
It's sitting at home now, waiting for my return. I also picked up a matching handguard instead of the plastic factory jobbie. It's a lovely natural/black combination. Much like the Boyd's pepper laminate that we can't get anymore.
My question now is how to finish it. Given that it's a laminate stock, I'm aware that it doesn't require the same degree of protection from moisture that a walnut stock does, but can those of you with more experience finishing these provide me with some guidance?
