I was wondering what the typical pricing is at clubs across the country for clays.

I think the pertinent questions are:

Cost/number of birds/member price

cost/number of birds/non member price

Type of birds, Trap/Skeet/5 Stand/Sporting Clays

Membership cost.

Is the club member run or a business. I ask that because I can understand a range that has to pay staff has much higher overhead then one staffed by volunteers.

So for my local Range:

$5/25 birds/members
$10/25 birds/non-members (non members can shoot one day at our club for member prices to try it out.)

Trap or 5 Stand, same cost.

$30 Membership.

Membership run private club, no paid staff.

My Club - Member Owned, not for profit, 100% volunteer, 2 skeet fields, 1 trap field, 1 5-Stand:

Member Prepaid $4 ($60 or $120 prepaid shooting cards)
Member Cash $5
Non-Member - $7

that's for skeet / trap / sporting.

Membership $70 plus $30 OFAH membership for insurance puposes.

But every club has different circumstances, such as # of members, whether the property is owned or leased etc. Our general operating rule is that our membership has to cover our fixed yearly costs (Taxes / insurance / hydro) and we have to make at least 100% on our targets. targets are just about $0.08/each now, so we have to make a minimum of 16 cents per, hence the $4 round.

We also set our non-member rate $2 a round higher to encourage people to take a membership. If you take a membership and buy a 30 round shoot card, you pretty much instantly save the price of memership in reduced shooting fees.

I never complain about a clubs rates as I know every clubs costs are different.

I agree gttsc. I was mostly looking for a general costs picture. I thought our club was terrific at $5 a round. There is no doubt that land values can seriously effect overhead, as can so many other things. We set our non membership price up in order to encourage membership as well, and 6 rounds pays for the membership, but we put in place one day at member costs/year so as people could try it out without breaking the bank.

Agree...member run clubs have to be creative to try and keep costs down and memberships up. With the price of ammo going up (and down...lol) we always try to make the shooting as economical as possible. Now on that note, we did vote to raise our membership $20 next year to offset out increasing fixed costs...which isnt too bad as we have resisted raising it for the past 5 or 6 years.

Canada: $4.50 per round, Trap or Skeet, public ownership $25/year
US: Casa Grande AZ. $6/round Trap, Skeet or 5 stand, Private no membership fees
Tucson AZ. $5/round Trap, Skeet, $8/round International Trap, public, membership $30/6 months.........I shoot way too much!!

At our club......Volunteer run, ATA and NSSA shoots mixed volunteers/paid help, 3 trap fields(1 wobble), 2 skeet fields, 1 manual run 5 stand, 25 and 100 yard pistol/rifle ranges, Clubhouse with kitchen and bathroom facilities.

Memberships: Includes OFAH membership

Individual................$120/year
Family.....................$170/year includes husband, wife, children 18+under

Targets:

Skeet: $4 member, $6 non-member or guest

There is also a $40 pre-paid card for members for skeet/trap allowing for 11 rounds. Buy 10 get 1 free bonus.

5 Stand $6 member, $8 non-member or guest

Rifle/Pistol Ranges:

Members.......... $2 /day

Non-Members.....$5 /day

Non-members and or/members guests are allowed 3 visits utilising the club facilities. At the conclusion of the third visit should the person decide to use the facilities again a memebership is required. At ATA or NSSA shoots we try to get 100% volunteers, failing that we hire as needed. We pay the trap help 2 cents/100 for targets thrown and place that on our shooters target costs in order to throw registered targets at practice pricing if possible. Most times our registered targets never exceed $20/100.
The manual 5 stand is only run occasionally or for fundraising/fun shoots as it is shot on our main skeet field. The woblle trap is incorporated into the field as well as a tower at the rear of the field throwing overhead going away presentations. There is also a running rabbit target thrown from behind the front face of the high skeet house crossing in front of the 5 stations.

I shoot at 2 clubs in Ontario

Club 1 - all club members / volunteers all money goes back in to club. Small club, 50 members, not a big facility
Trap - $20 for 7 rounds, $80 annual membership fee.

Club 2 - all volunteers, money goes back in, certainly not a business, but a big club with lots of facilities and over 400 members
Trap, Skeet - $3.50 a round, $5 for non members, $100 annual member fee

Our little club in Peterborough Ontario has 2 trap fields.

Yearly membership =$50.00

members per round=$ 3.00

Non-members "=$ 4.00 per round plus $3.00 insurance for the day.

I have been told those are the best prices in Ontario.

Club is volunteer run with about 50 members.

Friendliest bunch of folks I have ever met.

Membership to the Ft. Mcmurray fish and Game Association is $200 per year.
This includes your Alberta Fish and game Association membership as well as access to all the different ranges
Members, $4 per round, non members , $6 per round for trap and skeet.
