Birmingham small arms (BSA) rifles: what can you tell me about them

I must have been lucky or not picky. In 60&70 they sure seemed as good or better than most. I didn’t like the model 70 in the 70s, the only Voere I owned was in 70s and qc was very poor. The BSA could be counted on to function as well as decent accuracy. The CF2 was the best. As you said YMMD but I liked them and Parker Hale as well.

I just ran the numbers and it came out to $4147.50 of today's dollars! The average weekly wages were $80.34 and the average salary was $116.41!

Also found an interesting old thread of what some things were worth in 1961. No Weatherbys but the Pre 64 M70 and M94 are there. Thanks to MiG25. I have highlighted the conversions in bold:
Somewhere around here i have a 1958 SIR catalogue. The 3 most expensive guns where the then brand new Weatherby MKV at $350, Browning Superposed for $300 & Browning Auto 5 for $250. Opposite end of the spectru. Cooey 39s where $7. Model 60's $11. I seem to recall there being BSA Cf2's but i cant recall the price.

Re model 70's and P17 the model 70 is a direct descendent of a model 70 hence the cone shaped bbl breech
here is something that the internet educated would not ever find out and i should not let this info out but i will
the fowler from the p 17 was used on the standard cal model 70's and here is the big one the extractor from a p17 was used for the model 70
