Looking at a used Bison, is there a serial number range where the firing pin spring and a couple of other parts required changing, or is it all Bisons ?
When I bought the 7.62x39 version it came with a spacer for the firing pin spring but not a new spring
I had to use the spacer so it would set off a cci primer otherwise it was hit or miss if it would lol
Haven’t tried it with surplus ammo yet
I think if you get one that needs the spacer bcl will just send one out for you
Hey there,
You can always register your Bison on the website https://blackcreeklabs.com/warranty-registration/
I always keep an eye open for earlier models (serial 100 or less) and automatically send them out extractor kits. The firing pin spring insert is sent out with all newer models, and are available at request at any time.
If you have any further questions, please reach out. carrie@blackcreeklabs.com
I have some greentip 5.56 ammo that are said to have harder primers intended for use with SA guns. The stock spring in the Bison may not allow the firing pin to strike hard enough.
I emailed BCL and they confirmed that it could cause miss fires with that ammo and sent me a tighter spring that same week.
