Well after a few years of indecision, and almost buying one of the Norinco AR15's a while back, I finally bought an AR15! I ordered an M&P 15 Sport 2 from Al Flaherty's today. An I must say I'm pretty excited. I didn't want to spend a large amount of money and the reviews on this rifle are pretty darn good.

As this is my first AR rifle I just wanted to warn you all now that I am probably going to be on here with a ton of questions. Before I do that though, do any of you have any words of wisdom for an AR newbie that I should know right from the get go?

Run the bolt wet! Get good 10 rd ATRS or LAR mags.
Don't add doodads to tacticool the AR until you've shot and read enough to know what you need and what you want. Everything adds weight to the gun and you may not recoup the money you spent.

Shoot the crap out of it. Lots of sales on .223 ammo on here. Spend time stripping and cleaning and learn the rifle! Enjoy

Me too! Mine came with some gouges but it will work.
