Bits of Pieces

Barry has always been great to deal with on my end... Fast Communication and fast shipping. Id recommend him...

i had barry build my 375 H&H as well as a couple of reblues and barrel rechambering and installing. no issues my 375 is quite the shooter. he isn't quick but i haven't found too many smiths that are both good and quick. seems you can have one or the other but not both.

Thanks everyone this is the kind of response that I was looking for. I am not too concerned about turn around time and more concerned with quality, so it looks like I found the right place.

He worked on two of my S&W revolvers that required M.D. Carlton to fix his "work". On one he put the hammer nose bushing in backwards!! He rendered a friend's Colt King Cobra revolver unusable when he did the 'trigger job'. He says he can't correct his work because he can't get the parts due him cutting springs even though my buddy asked him not to cut springs. To this day he blames the ammo, yet the ammo fires with no problems on a S&W 627, Model 27 or 2 different 686's. Heard similar stories from others at the range regarding his work on rifles and/or handguns. Very inconsistent. I won't use him for any future work. I hope you catch him on a up cycle and not a down cycle if you use him..... YMMV.

Barry is one of the good guys, he has given me help and advise over the year. He has done reblueing and machining work for me and the quality was outstanding.

Good guy turn around a little slow because he's fairly busy. Easy to talk to as well.

Was in his shop nice guy to deal with was a 6 week wait for any custum gun smithing work but he was like but as you can see I got a large pile of guns to work on I looked back there and there was a decent line of guns...

Im kind of like I want it now kind of impacent for stuff... like if my computer goes down instead of sending it in for warenty I would have a new part in it instantly that same day..

for all my toys im like that though.. bought some parts looked at the stocks and barrels he sells for a 10/22 decided on not getting the barrel but might get the stock yet... just cant decided on what colour i want.. and If I should just get a new gun for the same price or just go all out on a gun.. and drop around 2k...

Quality Work

Had Barry install and chamber a montana barrel, gun-kote, tactical break (which he machined) and fit a stock. Great work, very accurate and the break worked incredibly well (tamed down a 338-300 RUM). Was very satisfied with the work, price and turn around. Would have work done by him again with no hesitation.

Hard to believe that there would be any negative comments about this all star gun smith. I have never heard any less than stellar reviews about this gun smith until I read this thread post. But since there was only one comment about a product that Barry never even sells I would chalk that up to B.$. So tbooker deal with this gun smith with confidence that you will receive top notch quality craftsmanship & a job well done!
