Hey there, would like to know if there is any places to get home build kits for a blackpowder rifle such as like from Traditions , Thompson Center, etc, :canadaFlag::canadaFlag::canadaFlag::canadaFlag::canadaFlag::canadaFlag: in Canada. I would really like to try building one and using it this fall to bust a whitetail or two would be pretty neat.

i know of one person. but you likely wont like the prices. you could get cheaper from track of the wolf in the states. they will ship kit guns for both flint and caplock if they are in the very basic form.

the person I know does only flintlocks and makes Lancaster style rifles. but you are looking at a kit of around $1400 Canadian. much easier and cheaper to get one from the states. I got my caplock English sporting rifle kit from Pecatonica River. they make good rifle kits.

WSS was stocking the Lyman GP kits - these are good quality kits too. Now missing from their website, that's a shame.

As indicated above, Track of the Wolf, Dixie etc are good bets. Lots of companies sell parts & kits, Pecatonica River (cited above), Sitting Fox...poke around.

You just might be better off buying a pre carved inlet stock, Barrel, Breech plug, lock, trigger and hardware and go from there. Then you will be building it.
