Black Anodized VZ58 magazines

Well the next time i hypothetically unrivet a mag for repair or cleaning I will not call the police to inform them I am doing so. Wow that was a close one....lol just pokin fun at a stupid law being far too broadly applied. Also the guy that was convicted has a great chance at winning the appel since he had no components assembled to make the metal box an actual mag. It is like putting ammo into a cereal box and saying it could feed a gun more than 5 rounds. It makes any metal container prohib by that interpretation.....

Actually, there is an easy way around this. Remove the base plate before removing the rivet. Replace the rivet before attaching the base plate. That way the magazine will at no time be able to functionally hold more than 5 rounds.

It's like a puzzle to defeat stupidity when you're the only one allowed to play...

.. back to the anodizing; I like the look. Can you guys do colored anodizing?

We have tubs of blue, red, and purple. The purple stuff appears to have gone bad as it just looks orange in the tub.

I was actually really tempted to do one blue, as its a nice dark blue. I have some aluminum AR15 mags I might do.

quit going off topic about the guy breaking the law. He was fixing his damn mag. btw the guy who killed all those people back in the 80's that ####ed up for rest of us. I hope there is a special place for him in hell.

It's a vary serious question. What if I decide I want to tear down my magazines myself and ship the bodies out for processing and I want to put them back together because I am mechanically inclined?

Last thing I want is to be shooting at the range and find out I pinned them incorrectly or something along those lines and get messed around because we have these unconstitutional laws.

Before anyone gets too excited and I get more PM's, I'm not planning to offer this as a service. As I said, our anodizing setup is for very low volume. It's basically a mickey mouse setup of turkey deep fryer burners and plastic tubs. It works four out low volume needs that would cost and arm and a leg to farm out.

Out of curiosity I did ask the boss what he would charge to do more. His response was around $30 to $40 per magazine, if we even wanted to. We don't want too, its a pain in the ass with little return.

Mag. construction

The CZ mag appears to be spot welded along the seams. As far as i know aluminum cannot be spot welded. Am I wrong about both those "beliefs"? ( spot welds at seams, and spot welding Al) Maybe it is cripmed. If it isn't aluminum what is the mag constructed of?
