No, Wendell, I'm saying the organization regarding BB courses in Edmonton seemed less than stellar.

I've looked at your link, dozens of times over the past few years, and all I get in reply when contacting anyone involved is "full, not sure when the next one will be" or "if you can get some more people we'll do a special."

If they're being offered more regularly at Phoenix, then I'd totally be game - but I don't see BB courses offered on the Phoenix calendar. CHAS night - check. IPSC Practice - check. PAL courses/challenges - check.

Do I have to get a dozen other guys interested in shooting IPSC to come out with me? I don't KNOW a dozen other guys interested in IPSC!

Is there a better calendar up at Phoenix that I can consult? Or should I just phone or email again?

There has been plenty of BB courses offered in and around Alberta.
Len does them during the winter (Indoors), there is one coming up soon in Red Deer and I'm sure Olds and Calgary will have some coming up.

Get off the couch and do some research, sign up and get it done.

Try watching the Alberta webpage. You need to be flexible, this is a hobby not a full time job for anyone. Heck when I took my BB I had to go to Ft. Mac to get it done.

BB at Phoenix the best way is to call them. i think they have one a month. anywhere else we put them together when we get enough interest. IPSC Alberta does not organize the courses. each individual instructor does. for example my latest one i had 4 people that expressed an interest along with about 6 others that said let them know. the cam through with a date and i have added two more since posting the date and i think i have two more to fill the course. then i will have to start all over again finding people who are interested..

I've been off the couch plenty - I asked in person so many times @ Phoenix, and was so dismayed by the hum-haw answers, that I just stopped asking. I have a full time job just like the rest of the IPSC community, so I can't be chasing people down on the phone 24/7 trying to figure out when they'll nail down a variable date.

That said, I stopped asking a while ago, and it sounds like (from what you're telling me) things have become a little more organized than they were when last I asked. This makes me happy, and I'll be sure to ask next time I'm around Phoenix way. Thanks for the heads-up.

that's good information, thanks. How many does an instructor usually want for a course? Is 4 actually enough to make it worthwhile?
