What does one have to do to find out when a black badge course is in Ontario?
I had contacted the Ontario site 2 weeks ago and have had no reply.

I have asked the question here on another thread and have had no reply.

Who do I have to talk to? Thanks

Being new to this, not sure where to look either.

I am looking for (different/any type/ CDP) pistol courses...and with a slight hijack, are they shotgun courses in the Golden Horseshoe area?

Any, and all info would be greatly appreciated.

If you have contacted the BB Co-ordinator then that is about all you can do at this point aside from monitoring the calendar and course list on the same site.

The BB co-ordinator does not organize courses per se......he just over sees their smooth running.

At this point the simple fact is no instructors have booked courses other than the May course in Sudbury.
I am going to book one at EESA for Early Feb but that might be out of your driving range. I would imagine that other instuctors will book some for the winter as well.

I am hopeful to finally get to take the BB this March or April, perhaps they will have one at Barrie. To Mark Mags, the CDP course is the IDPA NSO course. Apples and Oranges compared with the BB though.

A multigun course/program for Pistol/rifle/shotgun would be great too for current and new competitors.

So should I just join that and have done with it?
I'm OK with that if there is most likely not going to be a course through the cold months.

Please advise. Thanks

IPSC, BB, ABC, YYZ, CDP etc etc...

These short forms go on forever. For new people looking into this sport it is alot confusing...

Course A is alot like course C...but I don't know what course C is...

How about this...I am looking to get out, and HAVE FUN shooting. Be it target, "tactical" what have you...where do I start to look?

You need to decide on the discipline you want. The BB or Black Badge is the course required in Canada to participate in IPSC. This BB course also works for Defensive Pistol (so CDP, Canadian Defensive Pistol, which has gone by the way side, IDPA which is the most common one - International Defensive Pistol Association, and PPC - Police Pistol Combat). The BB course is overkill for these though. For IDPA and PPC the IDPA NSO - New Shooter Orientation course will do.

If you are interested in Cowboy Action, we take care of that ourselves, and govern ourselves under the SASS guidelines. Single Action Shooting Society.

If you have any other questions, PM me. If you want to do the BB as I do and want to do it with Stormy at the EESA club we can chat on that too.
