When ever you think you're ready (no waiting period)

next day?... you must take and pass a qualifier to get the black badge.

I did my black badge course on one weekend and then the next Sat fired my provisional qualifier match in Smith Falls.

after your coruse you got a card that you take with you to the shoot and it gets filled out you send it in

who ever told you that is wrong (hate to say it.) at the end of your course (assuming you pass) you get a blue card.. that card is what you get signed on your qualifier, and then send in the mail. (you get your BB card / Pin in the mail).. just keep the blue card (torn in half) as your "temporary" black badge.
