This course is the mandatory introductory course for anyone who wants to shoot IPSC in Canada. It teaches advanced handgun techniques; safely surmounting obstacles, moving and shooting, drawing, changing sources of ammunition on the fly, weak hand shooting, strong hand shooting and various shooting positions. It also teaches the fundamentals of the IPSC rules.

What is required to take the course:
• A centerfire handgun; 9mm or bigger caliber that you must have unlimited access to. (Tokarevs & their replicas are not eligible)
• A holster that protects the trigger guard of the gun. NO Serpa or Serpa-style trigger finger retention holsters. No Drop Leg or Tie-down Rigs.
• At least 4 magazines or speed loaders and pouches to hold them.
• 400 rounds of ammunition; It must be either copper plated or copper jacketed ammunition. Coated or raw lead is not permitted.
• eye and ear protection.

• Firearm Experience: You must be able to shoot 10 out of 10 shots from a relaxed standing position with two hands at 20 yards on a regular piece of paper (8.5”x11”) with no time limit with the firearm you intend to take the course with. IMPORTANT: If you have a Double Action / Single Action Gun (ie. CZ Shadow) – you will need to have this accuracy capability in the double action mode of the firearm. (This is an advanced type of shooting course, if you don't have the basic shooting skills, you will get left behind)
• Ability to attend all day Saturday and Sunday and complete an open book exam in the few days prior to the course. (We'll be done before 4 Sunday)
• Ability to follow instructions like the ones in this email that tell you how to register and the ones from the instructors at the course.
