Black Badge holster help

I'm taking my black badge at the end of January. I understand I need a firearm 9mm or bigger, 4 mags, holster and mag pouch, 450+ rounds, appropriate belt, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. etc.

I currently own 3 handguns. 44. Mag Desert Eagle, .357 Mag Ruger GP100, and .45 ACP Baby Desert Eagle. I've settled (haha...) on using my .45 for my Black Badge - and if all goes well during BB, I may consider using it in appropriate divisions also. It's my favourite, and the one I shoot the most.
I'm not really looking into getting a new gun for BB, or IPSC at this time until I can decide what division(s) I want to play in, or if I find my gun too cumbersome or difficult for any reason.

I am in search of a holster and mag pouch for my IWI Jericho 941 .45 ACP.

Any help with sourcing these would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you all for the recommendations! I'll check them all out.
I found one at Zahal made specifically for the .45 941. It's Kydex with tension screws. It came as either a clip, or one that mounts (is mounts the right word...?) to a belt.
Any thoughts on which is better for drawing? I'd hate to pull my whole holster off my pants.


Also, since it's not a 1911 style - how will I know it will work and fit without buying it first? I can't seem to find any specifically for it. I'd use a "generic fit", but the only ones I see are 1911 style. Or, is there no way around that really?

I found one from Fobus that looks really nice. It will adhere to all the rules (I think..), and it's got several ways to wear it. They also have mag pouches that match. I can't find a distributor though.

I've just contacted my gun range. They are going to order one in for me from Blade-Tech.
After speaking to him, he really does not recommend any holsters that use a trigger guard locking system (like BlackHawk and the one I linked by Fobus above). They are incredibly dangerous for beginners, since it puts your trigger finger in the "squeezing" motion over the trigger. He said there have been several incidents where people did, or nearly shot themselves. Which was really good to know. I haven't read anywhere about that (I haven't searched a whole tonne, as it wasn't something I had even considered).

He said if they don't have one specifically for my gun, that the CZ 97 and the Jericho are based off similar platforms - and one for CZ 97 may work.

I'll keep this updated. There's really not much out there in the way of holsters for Jericho 941 .45's
 
Not sure which province you're in but IPSC Ontario does not allow Serpa style holsters during their BB courses, not sure about matches.

I would go with at least 5x 10rnd mag for your BB course. Ideal would be 6 mags, one to act as a barney mag.
 
Possibly ghost makes a holster for the 941? Preferably kydex clamshell type like the stinger / thunder but if all you can find is a race holster, then I would recommend that before one with a lock mechanism

The part I high lighted-would tick me off, especially if you had to buy it and keep it even if it did not work.

I own a Jericho 941 in .45 acp and currently do not have a holster for it so I will follow your post to find one. Plus I need a holster for a SW 357 N frame revolver/beast I acquired recently :)

PS. I would go with Zahal as they work with the MFG of the pistol and know there stuff, send them some questions and THEY WILL get back to you and are stand up people and site sponsors to boot.

Don't be a BEGINNER when you get to the course, practice with your holster with no ammo. Keep yer booger picker off the trigger until you are ready to fire and especially when holstering. Watch some videos about trigger finger control and positioning during live fire exercises and practice at home when you have no chance to shoot yourself or others. READ the IPSC handbook over and over again it will stress what I just wrote.

Oh and holstering while practicing with Kydex without live rounds will hurt like a hammer to the finger but you won't blow a hole in your leg or foot or family member.

Blade techs are excellent. I been using one for over 5 years and have no issues.

Any holster is fine as long as it covers the trigger guard. You just don't want anything to slow down on your draw. So serpa holsters or holsters with any kind of user activated retention system is not a good idea and totally unnecessary.
