Which one you take and why thanks guys this will help me alot

Any of those will do at the distance that you are shooting.
Just make sure that you place your shot well!
To thump the bear, I would opt for the 45.70!

Any of those is fine... over bait though you might as well go with the .45/70 with cast 350+ grain (preferably 405+ grain) bullets... your scenario is kind of the sweet spot for the .45/70.

If you're set up at bow range, why not arrow him? I have killed several with arrows they die REAL fast if you stick it in the right place........just ask Hoyt, he's done in hundreds with arrows............If you don't want to do that then just grab any one of the rifles you listed and you won't see any difference in how they die. The same bullet placement from any one of your rifles will act exactly the same as any other..........he'll be dead. The quickest killer in your list is probably the 30-06 with 165 gn bullets.

YES.

None of them would be a poor choice at that distance (50m). Lots of thump from the top three listed, bottom two somewhat less so.

For 20 yards use whatever you feel like shooting a bear with. Try to get both shoulders.

Something that I've noticed in my own bear hunting is I see a lot of bears while checking or approaching baits, or just in the general viscinity. That leaves me wanting a general purpose hunting rifle that is as at home at 500 as it is at 50. Therefore out of your choices I'd lean toward the 30-06.

30-06, then 8mm, then the 45-70. Unless you've got some good handloads or premium ammo (buffao bore, ect) for the 45-70, then that might be #1 strictly due to the range.

My bear / moose medicine is 35 Whelen tossed from a Nosler M48 Outfitter.

So, out of your choices I'd go 30-06 because it is the parent case of my 35 Whelen...

Cheers
Jay
