Hi Guys. On a little bit of a dilemma. Black bear in Alberta or Black Bear in sask

I do know for bears in Alberta but It's a bit of a trip, will have to use buddies garage, and a small bit of hassle.

If I took one In Sask, I'd get to know a bit more of the country, and would enjoy staying in the province.

So does anyone know about Black Bear populations here. I really don't care how far north I have to go as long as the numbers are there.

anyone here taken Black Bear in Sask?

Thanks

I was talkin with some guys today at the Gun/Rip Off Shop and none of them were too up on bear hunting. lot's about deer, but not too much about Bear.

To calrify. I am in Regina. I would love to hunt Bear here, in any part of the province I can where it's legal. I do prefer the further north areas.

I know nothin about the bear populations here in Sask and do not hear a whole lot about it either. i make several trip to Northern Alberta and have a few good spots to go for bears there. As I said I would prefer to stay in sask, but will make the trip in AB if need be.

I'd just like to know of bear hunting and encounters here in Sask.

Thanks Guys, I guess Ontario has a lot of Beers, I sawa few there up around Sioux, and they were big!!!

Now I am no expert, I have hunted bears 3 times and have shot two (should have shot 3)

But from all of my research, I have found that you can almost guarantee that you will find bears if you set up a bait within 100 yards of a stream in the woods. Now that is not saying you will attract a BIG bear but you should bring bears around. Seems to me (at least in NB where I hunt) that bears are everywhere there is suitable habitat.

Seeing you are in Regina, to get the real lowdown on the bear population, or wolf hunting, or whatever turns your crank in SK, go to 3211 Albert St.
You should be able to get all your questions answered there.
