Varnish/paint remover, apply with a brush, let it work and polish with fine steel wool. Will not harm the steel or the bluing if there any under the paint. An old tooth brush is good to remove the paint on tight spot too.I need to remove that ugly black paint on one of the SKS that I got. I want to do in the safest way so that finish is not destroyed on the other side. What do people do for that nowadays?
I'm pretty sure that paint stripper work better, ofc i never tried stripping paint with vinegar.Wonder if the vinegar method guys, including myself have used for removing the purple finish on SVT bolts would work in this case.
