Anyone know where I can get some black colour two part epoxy? I want to nicely counterbore a hole and then cover the the ends of a reinforcing crosspin in a wood stock.

Mix it with any laser printer toner ($10 a bottle off the eBay) using spatula, than thermal treat it to about 80° in your stove, apply clear coat of the same epoxy and you are all set.

You can buy special pigment for epoxy, it comes in a little plastic tube. Cheap stuff. Maybe even canadian tire or an auto parts place would have it. An auto paint supply store might also be able to give you some pigment.

JB Weld is black.

??? The JB Weld I've used is a light gray colour when cured.??? If u say so there must be a black colour too.

I've used white Marine Tex to repair boat hulls so a black might be perfect.

Thanks all for the good info!!!

Actually, the laser toner pigment is a great idea! The "pigment' is actually little plastic balls, and my wife's office has a colour laser so I can get cyan, magenta, and yellow toners from the expended cartridges. That mageta is a very striking colour, it'd be pretty cool mixed into the Devcon 2-Ton Clear epoxy!

Marine Tex comes in black.

Hey i need some Black epoxy to. Where can i get Black marine tex??

I have both JB weld and Permetex cold weld and ones Gray and ones light green no black.

Can i mix the ink toner with JB weld ?

The toner I was writing about is a very fine powder, and it should mix with just about anything. Try it in a small batch first and use it to stick some popsicle sticks together. Never experiment with misson critical components.

OK i will buy some Black toner I dont have a printer but im guessing i can buy it at staples?
I didnt even know Toner was powder. That will make mixing less of a mess.

Try calling boat and marine shops, that is where I got mine.

You can get Black Epoxy for circuit boards. Very durable stuff.

Commonly refered to as, circuit "potting compound" ;)

You can get it in black or clear and any electronics supply store can get it in for you.

Hope this helps :beerchug:

What about Lepages plastic steel epoxy. Come in a dual syringe, mixes black. If it mixes grey, throw it away, it is damaged and will set up way to fast!!!!

3m makes an epoxy in black. It's made for panel bonding in vehicles and is ridiculously strong. I haven't seen it in anything other than large quanities though.
