I meant Swiss Arms Black Special deer down! I hope this helps with the question is 223 adequate for deer, got this buck at 75 meters with Hornady 55gr TAP through the neck dropped on the spot didn't move an inch. On dissection showed 3 neck vertebrae completely destroyed. Nice casual relaxed conditions and my last of the season with a rifle that I can hit the 8 inch gong at 200 meters every shot! Put about 1200 rounds through the pipe before going hunting with it. Deer number 1 of the season was taken with my M1A.

PS I had no option but to shoot for the neck as his entire body was behind a stump.

I didn't know you could shoot deer with calibres smaller than 243(legally). I'm from Saskatchewan. Are there any other provinces where this is legal?

Alberta, i believe the rule is nothing below .23. Thought alberta was unique on that though. Regardless, grats on the critter!

You can hunt with .223 in BC.

Adequate or not. The hunting nazis in Nova Scotia will not let you hunt deer with anything less than a .243, regardless of what evidence you show them. GGrrrrrr.....
