I've never seen one before........but recessive traits/genes cause all sorts interesting colors in creatures. I would believe it to be real.

that buck is from Texas and its older then 2004 I believe, its called a Melanistic whitetail

A couple years ago we spotted one that was patched like a pinto.white,black,& brown.

Update 12/31/07: Have heard this was shot in Arkansas and in Michigan. J.D. sent info about 2 different threads, one claiming Michigan, the other Arkansas."

Here is a pic off that site of a white buck.

I know just over the border from me in Seneca, NY. They have a location where they have the white deer housed on a old army base. I was thinking doin the tour that they do every so often.
