Black Feeding Frenzy

Thanks for posting that I appreciate it. The article definitely makes sense. I agree with this analysis, but worry that we are far more likely to get bans in Canada than the US. This would mean that the supply would bounce back, but anybody caught with their pants down again would be eliminated from the market...again! Canadian market prohibs aren't fetching top dollar anymore because no new consumers can buy them......could be the same with your average black rifle in the future. I could also see the huge ammo tax...they would love to do that.....have your gun, but you can't afford to shoot....

Because the more guns are out there, the harder it will be for some misguided politicians to remove them!

When's the last time you heard one of our politicritters quote the number of legal law-abiding gun owners, in any positive light? Face it, we are a minority but unlike other minorities, it's ok and encouraged to take away our freedoms. We don't figure into their equations, the smuggled guns owned by pushers are the only guns that matter to the talking heads.

I agree with a previous post about "buy one, shop wisely from there". Find and buy a stripped lower, that's a start. From there you can build one one piece at a time. Have someone skilled in AR building do it for you or you will have an unpleasant first foray into the world of black rifles. From there, be patient, deals do pop up and wil continue to do so.

As for price gouging on the EE and other places, I've been called a socialist many times on this board for saying that's wrong. Pricing new shooters out of our sport might make the seller feel good in the short term but it WILL come back to haunt us all. It's bad enough the general public sees us as weirdos just for owning guns, do we want to look like thieves and cheats too?

Because of the C-68 I bought my first AR15 HBAR made by Colt with $1200. By that time you could still buy a AK (restricted) but the price was $1200.
Comparing the quality the AK was from Russia or China (Norinco Type 56-2 something like that) I ended up with the Colt.
I still remember the dealer said "Buy it now or never."
Eventually the AR is still available as it was but the AK is not prohibited.

I think the best way to do is buy more since it will cause more tax payer money for a ban or confiscation.
