Black Gun: Quebec's patrol carbine competition, Sept 28th 2013

Hi guys, I've ordered a level II holster for my 1911, but it's backordered. Please bring yours so I can borrow it ! I'm scheduled to shoot the duty pistol at 16:30

If no one is able to bring one you are more than welcome to shoot my m&p9. Will bring extra ammo if need be

I'm pulling out of handgun (couldn't get enough guidance to feel comfortable about doing the cof safely), but can bring my Bladetech. Just PM me Friday afternoon in case i forget to put it in the range kit :)

so fellow gunnutz i have run into a slight snag. I ordered a front sight adjustment tool from hical, received it today and its made by ncstar, and the pegs used for adjustment arent long enough. would anyone attending the event this weekend happen to have a front sight tool i might be able to borrow at the event for a few minutes?

Ughhhhh we won't be arriving before noon. We were planning on 12:30 as we will be leaving Whitby around 6am, will make a stop at SFRC, too. Rifle at 2pm and Jeff will be shooting the pistol at 5pm. Sorry :(

2 rooms booked. Tip for you guys.. Book through Expedia and not Hotwire.. We booked through Hotwire, which doesn't tell you which hotel it is and the one we got (in dt Montreal) is a mixed bag. Cheap but there were better option and would have been worth the extra $$$ to spend on something better.

If anyone is planning on staying in Montreal we should all meet up in the sat night and have a beer.

I'm always up for some brew after shooting  Jeff, we'll be bringing a cooler and making some sandwiches for our way up, so we can save cash on restaurants and only grab coffee on the way. Got room for whatever you wanna put in as long as it doesn't have curry in it.. Also got pop.. The choices are coke, coke, coke, fanta and coke (just kidding about the fanta)

Ughhhhhh optics mess.. So the original setup was too far back for this type of competition, even though it was accurate and held zero nicely, so I ordered a forward mount that arrived yesterday. That one isn't holding zero due to the rifle design, as I found out around 12:30AM. Had to run back and forth as I didn't have an Allen set to take off the optics and set up the irons. So I came back but the SKS front sight tool is a little too narrow to adjust the windage on this rifle and she shoots a bit to the right.. So I'll be shooting with a peep and applying some Kentucky windage. Wish me luck tomorrow lol

Should have remembered to just mount the SPARC earmarked for the 10/22 on it. Too late now.. Wouldn't have the time to sight her in.

Update: Mounted an elcheapo BSA red dot that held zero on the SKS fine, will boresight it at 25yds and that should be ok for 27's and 34's at all CoF distances.. Better than 12MOA of Kentucky windage with a peep lol
