I only have maybe a 5% grasp of what went down (NEA shilling, USP ban, JDMAN exodus, etc) - I don't really care to find out more, because at the end of the day, I will decide what is a good gun for me to own.
Whatever happened to that nice little tactic of locking things down so that everybody - all parties with vested interests, can walk away and breathe, do an OODA loop? Reacting hastefully to situations such as these can cause more irreversible damage than good. Tempers flare, people feel their reps are tarnished, people feel wronged, blame needs to be put on somebody...with feelings like these, posts will always be very loaded - which doesn't really serve to purpose.
I do understand that people do want to aire their observations and their feelings about them, but sometimes removing yourself to give pause, might give just that extra bit of clarity and composure so that your posts don't sound like a love triangle in need of some serious therapy.
I've experienced situations such as these in real life that don't end well, both corporately and for peoples involved. However, this being a virtual arena perhaps the damages may not be as visceral...but, I do not want to risk losing CGN as my major resource for good information.
So calm down, drink some single malt, have a cigar, hell, even watch some #### - I'm sure some of you need that release.
This message is not meant for anybody specific, just in general from the overtones I am observing about these situations.
