Finally finished a 10/22 build that seemed to go in 10 directions.
When all was said and done, I decided after all the tweaks, changes, modification & redoes that I'd call it mIs-Fit. :D
Enjoy! (sorry about the dirty carpet...I fired the maid)

Cool.

I just got my Specter Arms Chassis in the mail the other day. From my first opinion I feel that while it has potential, in its original trim, it still needs some work.

I also went with the same butt stock but it ends up with a LOP of about 12". Which normally would not be a problem, but with the NEA 9" barrel I am using it puts it's OAL under 26" so I need to go another route to remain non-restricted.

Did you do any modifications involving the forestock??? I think I will add a couple of small pins/dowels to make the fit between main chassis and forestock more secure but have not delved into it to far yet.

whats the magazine?

It's a ProMag AA922-A2 mag

To the OP, love the semi MP-5 look you got going on. Nice collection too!

Thanks Sights...

Very nice! Where did you get that stock from?

Hey JT....Go it from Specter Arms.
In all honesty I was not impressed when it first arrived.
Paint chipped on stock as well as fit and finish was poor.
I stripped all the paint off the stock and repainted EVERYTHING with Brownells flat black Aluma-Hyde paint, tweeked the alignment of some screw holes and drilled and taped some of my own.

I did do some mods to the forestock Surfclod.
Drilled and taped screw holes for the side and lower picatinney rails.
Permanently attached the main top rail.
Drilled the hand guard and attached a drilled short front shroud.
Once it was attached to the chassis and the receiver it firmed up really nice.
I used a 11" barrel and the OAL comes in at a hair over 26" less the compensator

No offence Wham-O, but after looking at all your pics....it's possible I may hate you! JK, sweet collection!

No offence taken jiovie...;) :D

Does the fact that it looks like an mp5 navy make it restricted?

No it doesn't DsrtRat. (....is that what it looks like to you???)

Our gun laws are VERY confusing to say the least, but because I built this from a so called "parts kit" and it started as a standard Ruger 10/22, then the major rule that applies right now, is it has to be more than 26" OAL (not including the compensator)

Thanks.

It does "resemble" it enough to remind me of that gun.

Unfortunately, the laws are so confusing and the RCMP seems to change them at will, that even looks a bit like is enough to concern me.

Nice looking riggs by the way. I do like that one a lot.

It could always be "for sale"

RUN FOREST RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dam, that's like teasing a Rosie O"Donnel with a cupcake!!!

I bought my first 10 22 yesterday from the EE. Wanting to build something fun with it. Kinda like "everything" on your wall. Been toying with the Archangel and Marauder, then I saw your Spectre build and thought, "hmmmm, I do like the look of that gun". The only thing making me doubt the marauder is I want an adjustable stock so I can teach my kids to shoot without them putting the stock under their arm. I like the look of the Marauder but length of pull could be an issuse for me.

LOL, I feel like a junkie. I just bought my gun yesterday and there is voice coming from one shoulder saying " keep going ahead with the build" and at the same time there is another voice saying "ask him what he wants for it"!!!

with the 9" barrel how much shorter was it? could you not just add a flash hider to lengthen it to the unrestricted limit? I have a 9” barrel and am considering this stock so I’d like to know how I could keep it unrestricted. Thanks

I used an 11" barrel and it measured in at a hair under 27" LESS the compensator.
I never add the length of the flash hider/compensator/fake can etc. to the OAL just to stay on the safe side. ;)

thanks, i'm just wondering what i could do to make that stock unrestricted with the 9" barrel that i have. Very tough to figure out when nothing has specs on it like lengths of stock, butt stock, etc. And there is no opportunity to go to a store and measure and play around with it myself. I’m thinking I could just go with a butt-stock that’s about 2” longer but good luck finding the lengths of stocks mentioned anywhere. So much Mickey Mouse BS

To be honest, a 9" barrel will sit pretty far into the barrel shroud on that particular set-up.
I used an 11" and the threads JUST came outside the shroud.
You may want to try and find a longer barrel (I know that's NOT what you wanted to hear).
A longer barrel will also certainly keep you away from the "restricted" zone. ;)
Good luck!

i want the barrel inside the shroud. It's the look i'm going for :p
