Was in a gun store out Simcoe way on Friday, they have a Nylon 66, blued with black stock. Looks like new, still got the sticker on the butt explaining the Dupont Nylon stock. $200 plus taxes, so $230 out the door. Little pricey but nice example.
PM me for details.

I have one of the brown stocked ones with the ten round detachable magazines and it is a Rem Nylon 10C. I actually like it better than the tube fed .22's as it is much easier to unload as we move from field to field looking for ground hogs, bunnies and such.

That is the same as my father's minty mint example...and agreed, I also much prefer the detachable mag vs. tube for simple convenience.

Is the model designation for the detachable mag model a "Nylon 77" then? Curious...my dad has one that he won't give up to me quite yet and I would like to get one!!!

I believe that the Nylon 77 is a lever action if I am not mistaken. The Nylon 10c (detacheable magazines) are not as reliable as the 66s that's why Remington stopped making them.I agree I prefer a detacheable mag with 30 rounds but I can't complain about my Nylon 66.

Funny, I've never had a hitch with my dads shooting any kind of .22LR ammo. It is NOT a fan of Stingers though (too long)...they frequently jam.

The 66 came in two colours brown (usualy brownish black and green) the green ones are rare I guess, I've seen them sell for $450-$600 and the brownish black sell for $180-$225

I bought mine in about 1964 Apache Black model. Black stock white line spacers and a chrome barrel and reciever. It cost me $50. From Hanes and Hansens Hardware.
