Hi - so I am about to buy another pistol...

In you opinion which offers better resale do you think?

black or silver? I am indifferent - I'd go for the Bling but may have to wait for shipment. Black is in stock - The impulsiveness of buying now is eating me away.

I'd buy black if it was more likely to sell - I have a feeling it doesn't make a difference.

Depending on the type of black finish, you may find it wears away or shows scuffs or scratches faster than a silver (stainless?) finish. If the finish is worn, that may reduce the resale value. I don't think one or the other is statistically more valueable on resale, though. Personally, resale value is low on my list of considerations when buying firearms, as I buy them with intent to keep them ideally until someone pries them from "my cold dead hands".

I like both, black is a little more discrete...

My intent is actually to avoid scuffing / scratches. I was searching Kimbers online when I notice 90% of users pictures were stainless.

I plan to abuse this unit :) black like cars I suppose shows every imperfection sooner than alternative finishes.

is it possible to Parkerize Aluminum? would it be beneficial?

I guess I should spill the beans :)

I did mean aluminum. The pistol will be a Kimber 22LR Target 1911

black and chrome/stainless hilights sound good however I am not sure if I get to play in the 'custom' sandbox with a Kimber 22 1911.

The choice is black matte or silver matte.

Can anyone post some picks of some tricked out 1911 on black ? ( not all black - some contrast... ) In my searches I only ever turn up tactical looking (all black) pistols.

Anodizing the aluminum after wear tear will give me a ton of options.

The 1911 below done in Carbon/Titanium color is one of the sweetest ...
