black oxide blueing Pics added

I did the action for the 95 I will take pics tomorrow when the oil has evaporated and dried
The bbl turned out good but no hot blue
On another note i have a guy here in gimli who can get the chemicals for the solution in bulk I'm going to see if it works as well if so i will try and offer it to the clan here :D

Just one note you will need a compressor with at least 12-15 cfm. I bought the floor model glass bead cabinet from Princess Auto and my 6 cfm model ran out of air in about 2 minutes then you have to stand around and waite for pressure build up.

Princess Auto does not list the dimensions for the floor model and I am six hours away from the their outlet.

Can I trouble you to ....

- measure it up and post the measurements?

- give your opinion of its suitability to cleaning firearms (like a barrel, when needed)?

- I see that they list lights, etc. as accessories ..... can you confirm these as extra costs?

Thanks :D

Get some pics up!..........I want to see this.
I have a VZ58 that needs some better finish than the paint that is currently on it! :D

Glass cabinet

The Princess Auto Cabinet is 33" wide and about 20" deep. They are fairly light weight. The cabinet gloves are very light but do the job. They do sell light as extras and I would reccomend getting the tear aways for the window. . Make sure you vent it outdoors or hook a vaccum to it or you will fill your shop with dust. I know experience!.

No offense, :D but it looks like it came out "dingy" gray .... is that just because of lighting when the pic was taken?

Thanks :D

Yeh the pic is a little light but yes it is a matt finish more like parkerizing
It is blackish grey
It doesn't compare with hot blueing but if your looking for a durable matt finish its not bad

Buckbrush WTF????

So it's a matte finish? I'm really getting interested....

Uh... you aren't trying to lure me and molest me, are you? :?

Because... it might work!

Your scaring me know

if you are gonna set up to do this let me know, my SMLE is at the point where it turns orange if it gets damp. i don't care what the finish looks like, as long as it protects it.

I'm going to re-do my 870 slug gun and see how it turns out
but i have a 270 and a 7.62x39 and a .338win mag on the go right now and want to finish them off first
I'm running out of room in my little shop :D
